• Prof Shameem was born in Sylhet and did his medical graduation (MBBS) from Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College in 1988; he attained his post-graduation (FCPS) in 1996
• From 2003 to 2007, he worked as an Assistant Professor in Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College. He also worked as an Associate Professor in Jalalabad R R Medical College & Sylhet Women’s Medical College from 2007 to 2013
• Before joining United Hospital, he was serving as Professor of ENT & Head Neck Surgery at Samorita Medical College & Hospital. He also worked in former IPGMR (Current BSMMU) & Dhaka Medical College
• He has had training in Ear Microsurgery, Endoscopic sinus surgery, Sleep surgery & Laser Surgery in India & Singapore
