• Dr. Rajib Banik is a Thoracic (Chest) Surgeon who specializes in the treatment of surgical diseases of the chest involving the lungs, pleura, mediastinum, trachea (windpipe), esophagus (food pipe), chest wall and diaphragm including Chest Trauma.
• Obtained MBBS degree from Sylhet M.A.G Osmani Medical College Hospital in 2009. Completed CCD from BIRDEM in 2014.
• Completed M.S (Thoracic Surgery) from BSMMU in 2020.
• Early in his career he worked as medical officer, RMO, registrar, EMO in different reputed institution and medical college.
• He joined in UHL in 2018 as EMO, then specialist (Thoracic Surgery), and now working as junior consultant (Thoracic Surgery).
• He has completed multiple hands-on training on Key-Hole surgery/VATS (Video Assisted Thoracoscopic Surgery), interventional pulmonology, tube thoracostomy, BLS, ATLS from different reputed institutes of the country.
• He has completed “International Uniportal VATS Training Program” from Shanghai Pulmonary Hospital, Shanghai, China.
• He has multiple publications in national and international journals, has presentation on national and international seminars.
• Specialization and expertise in Open and key-hole (VATS) surgery of the chest like lung cancer, lung abscess, bronchiectasis, esophageal cancer, Achalasia, Thymoma, pleural and pericardial surgery, diaphragmatic conditions and many more.
